Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, says governments cannot deliver genuine peace to their citizens. Speaking at a church gathering in Warri, Delta State, he insisted that only God can grant true peace to believers.
"No government in this world can give you peace, neither can you find it in the market," Oyedepo told worshippers. "It is only God that can give you peace."
The clergyman acknowledged that governments provide security and manage public affairs, but stressed these don't address the deeper human need for inner tranquility. He said lasting peace comes exclusively through a personal bond with God.
Oyedepo encouraged his congregation to strengthen their relationship with the Almighty and make seeking His presence part of their everyday routine. He urged believers to stop looking to worldly systems for spiritual fulfilment.
His message emphasised the distinction between physical security—which authorities can provide—and spiritual peace, which he argued only faith can supply. The bishop called on his flock to prioritise their connection with God above all external circumstances.
