Africa's biggest cinema celebration is happening right now in Lagos. Winners are being crowned at the 12th Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards, and the night is delivering major surprises.

My Father's Shadow claimed the Best Movie award tonight. Producers Fumbi Ogunbanwo and Rachel Dargavel accepted the honour for the film that dominated the evening.

Director Akinola Davies Jr. won Best Director for the same film. His brother Wale Davies recently won a BAFTA award alongside him in the UK.

Uzor Arukwe took home Best Lead Actor for Colours of Fire. He defeated strong competition from actors like Kanayo O.

Kanayo and Lateef Adedimeji.

Linda Ejiofor made history with a double win tonight. She claimed Best Actress for The Serpent's Gift and Best Supporting Actress for The Herd.

Her Best Actress victory was particularly competitive this year. She beat out Sola Sobowale, Bimbo Akintola, and Genoveva Umeh for the award.

Bucci Franklin earned Best Supporting Actor for To Kill A Monkey. His portrayal of crime leader Oboz impressed critics and audiences alike.

Colours of Fire continues its winning streak at the awards. Valerie Okeke took home Best Costume Design for her warrior culture designs.

Her work brought forbidden love and betrayal to life visually. Every piece of clothing told part of the epic's story.

Ajamolaya Bunmi and Yakub Oladejo won Best Art Direction. They created immersive worlds that captured the film's dramatic landscapes perfectly.

My Father's Shadow picked up another win in sound. Pius Fatoke and CJ Mirra claimed Best Sound and Sound Design.

The technical team brought depth and emotion through audio work. Every sound enhanced the film's intensity throughout.

Colours of Fire has proven itself a major contender tonight. The film is racking up wins across multiple categories at the ceremony.

My Father's Shadow is matching that success with its own wins. Both films are reshaping the night's narrative as standout productions.

Nollywood's biggest names gathered for tonight's celebration in Lagos. The 12th AMVCA continues to showcase the best of African filmmaking.
