Alleged antiparty activities, group clears Kachikwu of allegation

A Niger Delta Group that style itself as 4+4 Niger Delta Believer’s Council, a pressure group within the All Progressives Congress, APC, has faulted those allegeding that the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu engaged in antipathy activities during the Presidential and National Assembly elections, describing it as a propaganda of falsehood geared towards tarnishing the image of the minister.

National coordinator of the group, Fred Magada in a statement yesterday while reacting to the allegation which he said if not checked could be mistaken as true, stated that the allegation is being peddled by some members of the party in Delta State who are lobbying to take over from Kachikwu as minister.

Fred in the statement, said: “Kachikwu has been one of the major backbones of the APC in Delta State and it is indeed preposterous and laughable that some overambitious party members in a bid to want to take over from him, would level such a roguish allegation against him.

“I wonder were these individuals were when Kachikwu was sponsoring the activities of the party for the past three years. As youth mobilizers of the APC, we would like these individuals to know that Delta State needs a minister in the class and person of Kachikwu for the next four years.

“We would also like to appeal to Mr. President and the APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole to pay deaf ears to these individuals especially those who spoke at the last Monday APC town hall meeting because this is basically a ploy to discredit the minister for the benefit of their selfish ambitions.”
