The Olotu and Ekuogbe Rowland Akpodiete Foundation has celebrated its 7th anniversary with the distribution of over 100 health insurance cards to beneficiaries in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State. The event, held at Ubogo Community Town Hall, underscored the foundation’s commitment to improving access to healthcare.
Executive Director of the foundation, Dr. Olotu Akpodiete JP, commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his healthcare policy designed to enhance the well-being of Deltans. He also applauded the Director General of the Delta State Contributory Health Commission, Olorogun Dr. Isaac Akpoveta, for what he described as the effective implementation of the Governor’s More Agenda.
Dr. Akpodiete stressed that many residents remain unaware of the benefits of medical health insurance and urged Deltans to embrace the scheme. “Healthcare is essential, and this policy is an opportunity that must not be ignored,” he said.
Resource person at the event, Dr. Oke Ikolo, took beneficiaries through practical steps on how to maximise their health insurance cards.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Evang. David Siloko hailed the initiative as a “great gesture” to the people of Udu, while Chief Sunday Tialobi, a beneficiary, expressed gratitude, offering prayers for both Governor Oborevwori and the foundation’s leadership.
The distribution, according to the foundation, is part of its wider mission of improving the lives of Deltans, with healthcare at the heart of its interventions.
