Rabiu Garba Aiki of the APC has won the Zuru State Constituency by-election. INEC declared him victorious at the collation centre on Wednesday.

Aiki polled 4,871 votes to defeat Labour Party candidate Aliyu Galadima Muhammad. Muhammad managed just 168 votes in the contest.

Prof. Muhammad Bashar Danladi, the Returning Officer, announced the results.

He noted that 5,156 voters participated out of 109,385 registered in the area.

A total of 5,055 valid votes were cast during the election. Ninety-five ballots were rejected, according to the official tally.

APC dominated across all ten wards in Zuru constituency. In Rafin Zuru Ward, the party secured 1,042 votes compared to Labour Party's 63.

Muhammad Usman Zuru's death created the vacancy being filled. He previously served as Speaker of Kebbi State House of Assembly.

Voter turnout remained low throughout the constituency. Election officials reported the exercise was conducted peacefully despite limited participation.

APC maintained its lead consistently during collation. Victory became evident early in the counting process.
