AFCON 2023: Nwabali’s Injury Concerns Super Eagles Ahead of South Africa Semifinal

In a surprising turn of events at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire, Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has expressed his desire to face South Africa in the semifinal, despite injury concerns.

The Nigerian team will face the winner of the match between Cape Verde and South Africa, following their 1-0 victory against Angola on Friday.

Nwabali, who plays for South African Premier League club Chippa United, is well-acquainted with South African players and wants to “test his defence” against them.

“Both Cape Verde and South Africa are good teams, but I want to play against South Africa,” he told reporters.

The Nigerian goalkeeper has conceded only one goal in five games at the tournament, making his performance a crucial factor in the Super Eagles’ success.

However, his injury concerns have raised questions about his ability to perform at his best in the potential South Africa semifinal.

The Super Eagles are determined to continue their winning streak in the tournament, and a win against South Africa would secure them a place in the final.

As fans eagerly await the outcome of the Cape Verde vs. South Africa match, all eyes are on the Nigerian team and their ability to overcome any injury concerns.
