Governor Ademola Adeleke's re-election campaign council has brushed aside opposition moves to derail his second-term ambitions. The team insists he remains laser-focused on winning voter support ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election.

Pelumi Olajengbesi, speaking for Adeleke's campaign, told reporters on Tuesday that the APC's tactics have fallen flat. He dismissed these efforts as mere "political theatrics" and "manufactured controversies" that haven't resonated with ordinary Osun residents.

Adeleke formally launched his re-election campaign this week. Olajengbesi said the governor won't be rattled by political attacks and plans to showcase his administration's track record to voters.

According to him, every APC attempt to sabotage or block the campaign launch has failed. He pointed to mass defections from the APC to Adeleke's Accord Party as proof of shifting political winds in the state.

"The depletion of the Osun APC, following defections of men and women of quality and influence to the Accord Party, has confirmed what's already obvious across Osun State," Olajengbesi stated.

He argued that Adeleke remains the favored choice among most Osun voters. Opposition political maneuvering won't change public sentiment, he added.

Olajengbesi criticized the APC for obsessing over scandals rather than policy solutions. He said the opposition party lacks credible ideas and can't match the governor's performance record.

"As Governor Adeleke launches his re-election campaign, the Osun APC appears restless and disoriented," he noted. "Lacking credible ideas or a superior record, they've spent weeks chasing controversies desperately seeking relevance," he continued.

The campaign spokesman suggested the APC feels threatened by Adeleke's expanding support base. Party officials worry about the administration's visible performance, he indicated.

Healthcare improvements topped his list of achievements. Education upgrades, infrastructure projects, workers' benefits and economic management also featured prominently, Olajengbesi said.

These successes have built public trust in the governor. Voters increasingly believe in his capacity to lead, according to the campaign official.

Ultimately, the people will decide the election's outcome, Olajengbesi emphasized. "Propaganda, intimidation, manufactured controversies and political distractions won't determine the poll's results," he said.

Voters, not politicians, hold the state's future in their hands. Their ballots will speak louder than any campaign rhetoric, he concluded.
