Oyo State Police Command has confirmed rescuing Mrs. Busayo Adelabu-John Paul and her twin sons from their abductors.

DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the police spokesman, made the announcement Saturday night. He released a brief statement to waiting journalists.

Mrs. Adelabu-John Paul is the younger sister of Adebayo Adelabu, the former Power Minister.

She was kidnapped June 3 in the early morning hours.

Gunmen ambushed her vehicle at Elewura in Challenge, Ibadan. They forcibly took her and the boys while she drove them to school.

Her abduction rattled the political establishment in Oyo State. Adelabu remains a prominent APC figure and past gubernatorial aspirant.

Family spokesman Femi Awogboro spoke to reporters about the rescue. He thanked everyone who helped secure their release.

According to Awogboro, the family appreciates support from government officials and security agents. The media and concerned friends also played vital roles, he noted.

Mrs. Adelabu-John Paul and her sons suffered no harm during captivity.

They've already rejoined their relatives.

The twin boys, Peter and Paul, are 12 years old. All three victims are safe and in good condition.
