Adedeji named as FIRS interim head by Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Zaccheus Adedeji as the acting chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), according to a statement issued by the presidency on Tuesday.

Adedeji, who is the Special Adviser to the President on Internal Revenue, will take over from Muhammad Nami, who is set to embark on a terminal leave. Nami has been the FIRS chairman since December 2019, when he replaced Babatunde Fowler.

As the acting chairman of FIRS, Adedeji will be responsible for overseeing the operations, tax collection efforts, and initiatives to enhance tax compliance at the agency. His appointment is subject to confirmation by the National Assembly.
