Ndokwa West PDP leaders adopt zoning in future elections

Ahead of the local government election in Delta State, Peoples Democratic Party leaders in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Wednesday, met at Kwale to fashion out how to equitable share political power in the council area.

The PDP leaders which comprise mostly political appointees and party leaders resolved at the meeting that henceforth all elective and appointive positions would be zoned between Abbi, Ogume and Emu axis and the Utagba axis.

According to reliable source, who spoke to ADVOCATE in confidence, he said that the leaders  observed that since the dawn of the present democratic dispensation, the Utagba axis has produce both the Chairman of the council and the House of Assembly member to the exclusion of other axis.

They therefore, resolved that in the coming elections, elective positions for the Chairman of the council and House of Assembly will be rotated between Utagba and Abbi, Ogume and Emu axis.

The source added that it was decided at the meeting that the for equity and justice, the next candidate for the House of Assembly in PDP in 2019 election should go to Abbi, Ogume and Emu axis.

The meeting also decided that the next council chairman would not come from the Utagba Kingdom, since for close to 20 years they had been producing the Chairman of the LGA.

Those that may had attended the meeting are the Present State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party,  Chief Obi Nzete,  the Commissioner Representing Ndokwa nation in the Board of DESOPADEC, commissioners who are now serving, one time commissioner of Energy and Power.
