The members representing Udu and Ughelli South state constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor and Barr Ruben Izezi, accompanied by the management of MCC construction Company Ltd, Monday paid visits to the Ovie of Udu Kingdom andĀ Okobaro of Ughievwen kingdom.

To create a peaceful working environment for the construction company, which is handling some roads projects in the kingdom, the lawmakers went to introduce the Management of Company to the two monarchs before the commencement of Okwagbe/Otu-Jeremi/Oghior/Okolor-Inland road project awarded by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

In a chat with newsmen during the visits, Hon (Chief) Peter Okagbare Uviejitobor said the joint meeting with the two monarchs and the management of MCC construction company Ltd and the nine communities was to intimate the monarchs about the road projects in their domain.

He said the road construction is projects that not only links the two communities of Udu Kingdom but connects additional seven communities in Ughelli South LGA which further shows the cordial relationship that exist between the two constituencies.

He added; “The road we are talk about here today which has been long abandoned by previous administration had been a deathtrap to motorists, den of robbers and kidnappers to both Ughelli South and Udu LGAs; and the benefit of the road cannot be over emphasized because it will also boost the socioeconomic and agricultural activists of the two constituencies which is the evidence of the dividends of democracy to the grassroot.”

While thanking Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for awarding and commencing work on the road projects, the Minority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly enjoined youths, leaders and indigenes of the nine communities to co-operate with the contractor handling the projects so that the completion date for the project would be met without hindrances by community people.

He further charged the contractors to be up and doing and not to use substandard materials for the job; and to strictly adhere to the job specification required by the state government.
