Delta Online Publishers promises to ensure objective, ethical reportage

Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF) has promised to sanitize online publishing in Delta State by ensuring that its members uphold ethical standard of journalism in their reports.

 

The group after its inaugural meeting, held at Niko Palace, Oghara, Ethiope West LGA, Delta State, attended by 11 notable online publishers stated that it became necessary to form the group in order to check the activities of quacks portraying the noble profession in a bad light.

 

In a press release sighed by the forum interim Chairman and Secretary, Mr Enebeli Emmanuel, publisher of www.ndokwarepoters.com and Mr Shedrack Onitsha, publisher, www.advocateng.com, the forum promises to ensure that their members reports are balanced, credible and objective.

 

The new interim executive also includes, Mr Kparobo Markons, Publisher, www.sunreporters.com as Organizing Secretary was mandated to draw up the forum constitution, aims and objective and code of conduct of members.

 

According to the release; “the forum urged members to uphold ethical standard of journalism in their reportage, by ensuring that their stories are credible, balance and objective.”

 

The forum stated further that; “it will synergies with the Nigeria Union of Journalist, Delta State Council to enforce profession ethics among online publishers in Delta State, in order to check the activities of quacks masquerading as online publishers.”
