Urhobo’s PDP Leaders Passes Vote Of Confidence on Okowa, Igbuya; PDP State and Delta Central Exco

The leadership and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta Central have passed vote of confidence on effective leadership of State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Monday Igbuya; the state and Delta Central executive of the party.PDP Delta Central Leaders, at  the stakeholders meeting at Sapele

The Delta Central leaders of the party passed the vote of confidence at an enlarged leaders, appointed and elected members of the party from the senatorial zone held, Sunday at the home of the Speaker, Hon. Monday Igbuya at Sapele, Delta state.

Moving the motion, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo stated that the state governor has done well in managing the affairs of the state at this critical time in the nation’s history, adding that with the cooperation from the House of Assembly which is made possible through the effective leadership of the speaker, Delta state is making steady progress.

He added that the state executive of the party has also been doing well since elected  into office and that Delta Central exco of the party is also worthy of commendation their drive to reposition the party and the motion was seconded by Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata.

Speaking earlier, the Delta Central PDP chairman, Chief A. P. Fovie urged the party faithful in Delta Central to persevere, noting that though the party is now the opposition party at the center; it can regain power at the center come 2019.

He added that the party has remained in power in Delta state and would continue to win elections in the state because there is no other viable party in Delta, stressing that come 2019, “PDP will do what they know how to do and will win again convincingly by returning Governor Ifeanyi Okowa back to the government house.”

According to Chief Fovie, “a hunter who kills animal regularly can butcher it even in the dark, the PDP has always won elections in Delta state and our Urhobo brothers have been our main opposition and we know how to beat them, and 2019 will not be different because many of them will also contest to be governor and we shall win them.

“So, I want to assure you that come 2019 we will deliver Delta Central to the PDP and return Dr. Okowa to the government house for another term in office.”

The Speaker, Hon. Monday Igbuya also called for unity amongst the party faithful, stressing that infighting in the party will not do the party any good ahead of the battle come 2019, adding that what is needed to be done, is to capitalize on the mistakes of the APC led  government to regain power at the center.

According to him, “we need to come together as a people to prepare ahead of 2019 battle at the center; infighting will not do the party any good. So, let continue to support the governor and the leadership of the party in the state at this critical time.”

Chief Ighoyota Amori and Chief Tom Amioku, speaking separately in interviews, stated that the party in Delta Central is stronger and has made some progress after the election of the new executive of the party at the state and senatorial level.

According to Chief Amori, “the elected leadership of the party at the state and in Delta Central have been endorsed everybody.”
