DELTA APC: Ogboru, Emerhor finalizes arrangement for registration of new entrants

The leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor has said that there is no iota of truth in reports making the round that the proposed registration of new entrants into the party billed to commence next week will not hold.

Advocate authoritatively gathered that Chief Great Ogboru, the former Labour Party  governorship candidate in the 2015 elections and  Olorogun O’tega Emerhor and other leaders of the party have finalize arrangements for the smooth take off, of the registration exercise as from Monday, July 18, 2016 across the state.

It would be recalled that on June 28th, 2016, the party leadership in the state led by Prophet Jones Erue, and Olorogun Emerhor had presented prominent politicians in Delta state that had defected to the party to the National Working Committee at Abuja.

At the meeting, the NWC led by APC National Chairman Chief John Oyegun commended the steps taken so far by the APC Exco in order to reposition the party in the state for the task ahead and also welcomed moves to register the new entrants into the party.

However, few days to the commencement of the registration exercise, some aggrieved party members loyal to one of the leaders in the state, Senator F.S. Okpozo, and his group took to the social media spreading rumour to the effect that Chief Ogboru had gone to party headquarters to protest against the registration.

Mr. Sadiq Musa had posted on his facebook page that; “Party Registration…The tide must change as the People’s General; Chief Great Ogboru lead protests to APC headquarter Abuja today. Light of labour to superintend over registration….”

Meanwhile Mr. Elvis Ayomanor, another Senator Okpozo’s supporter, a group the party leaders in the state alleged to be pushing for the postponement of the reception of new entrant into the party also took to his Facebook page alleging that the materials for the proposed registration exercise are faked.

According to him; “APC is not doing any registration for now, the leadership of the party confirmed that they are producing party membership cards, which will soon be out across the country.

“Please note that those registration materials are fake and illegal, so beware of fraudsters,” he stressed.

However, Advocate investigations revealed that while Senator Okpozo and his group were busy sending the non-registration reports to the public, Chief Ogboru and Olorogun Emerhor were busy at Emerhor’s Abuja residence finalizing the registration arrangement which didn’t finish until about 8:30 pm, yesterday.
