A-COURT VERDICT: Okowa Mop-up N530million from Banks in Asaba to Influence Judges …Mobilized over 2000 ex-militants to Abuja ahead of judgement

The Delta state Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and his party the People Democratic Party, PDP in a last minute effort to influence the outcome of the judgement of the Appeal Court which has slated Thursday, December 24, 2015 to give it verdict at Abuja; have allegedly mopped up over N530million from commercial Bank in Asaba to influence judges.

ADVOCATE gathered from a reliable source that due to the cash crunch in the state and their inability to transfer the money through bank because of the CBN current monetary policy, Okowa allegedly directed commercial banks in Asaba to transfer their cash reserve to an account operated by his younger brother in one of the banks own by his kinsmen.

Our source who is a top Manager in one of the bank in Asaba, alleged that the cash which where mopped up on Monday and Tuesday were paid to Mr. Tony Okowa’s personnel and business account from where, it was latter withdrawn from the Okowa’s kinsman bank.

He added that because of the difficult experienced by Okowa and PDP in moving the cash, they have to resort to moving it by road with full security and a team of PDP party leaders, political appointee to Abuja with the aim of influencing the outcome of the Appeal Court judgement in their favour.

It would be recalled that Olorogun O’tega Emerhor of the All Progressive Congress, APC and Chief Great Ogboru of the Labour Party, LP are challenging the verdict of the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which had on Oct.25^th upheld the declaration of Dr. Okowa as the governor.

The judgment which was slated to be delivered at the Court of Appeal Benin was later moved to Abuja due to security report that the Delta PDP and its Edo counterpart have mobilized their members to cause security breach should the decision of the court go against them.

Following this security report and to forestall the breakdown of law and order and also to guarantee the security of the judicial officers, the case was moved to Abuja.

ADVOCATE has it on good authority that ahead of Thursday, “Judgement Day,” Delta PDP has mobilized over 2000 youths including ex-militants to protest the outcome of the court verdict should it go against their candidate.
