Nigeria Football Federation Condemns Cyberbullying of Alex Iwobi

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has strongly condemned the online attacks and cyberbullying of Super Eagles’ midfielder Alex Iwobi.

The NFF Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, made a heartfelt appeal on Tuesday, urging fans to show love and support for the dedicated player instead of hatred.

Iwobi, who has a record of utmost dedication to duty and a remarkable attitude of giving his all on international duty, is the seventh most-capped Nigerian footballer in history, with 76 caps.

He has been a key member of the Nigerian national team for the past eight years, representing his homeland in various tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup in Russia (2018) and the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt (2019), Cameroon (2021), and Côte d’Ivoire (2023).

Despite his impressive achievements and commitment to the Nigerian team, Iwobi has been subjected to online abuse and cyberbullying.

The NFF has taken a firm stance against such behavior and emphasized that Iwobi’s dedication to duty for Nigeria is not up for debate.
