NAST Chairman caution members against using ‘Surveyor’ title

The Delta state chapter chairman of the  National Association of Survey Technicians (NAST) Comrade Babatunde Adegun has cautioned its members against using the title of ‘Surveyor’ attached to their names.

Comrade Adegun gave the caution in an interview with newsmen shortly after the quarterly meeting of the National Executive Committee of the Union, held at its NAST Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

He pointed that there was a difference between a surveyor and a surveyor technician, adding that as surveyor technicians they are to bear the simple title of ‘Comrade’ and not ‘Surveyor’.

He disclosed that in a recent publication, he was addressed as surveyor Adegun instead of comrade Adegun, noting that he is not a registered surveyor but a survey technician.

Comrade Babatunde Adegun further appealed to Delta State delegates to be more committed towards affairs of the state chapter adding that with a mind of togetherness they can build the survey profession.

The NEC meeting was presided by the president comrade Onafuye, who appreciated God for the safe arrival of all delegates to the meeting.

Those in attendance include delegates from Delta, Port-Harcourt, Osun, Oyo, Lagos, Ondo and Ekiti states amongst others.
