3rd year Anniversary: George Orogun commends Gov Okowa on good governance initiatives, laudable achievements

Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor of Delta State  and leading 2019 Ethiope Federal  Constituency aspirant, Barrister (Chief) George Orogun has commended the leadership foresight and good governance initiatives of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary celebration of this administration on May 29, 2018.

Orogun in a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Asaba, said the state had made tremendous achievements within the past three years of Okowa’s administration in infrastructure development especially roads construction and rehabilitation; education, agriculture, health, socioeconomic advancement and breakthroughs in jobs and wealth creation compared to many other states in the country.

He further asserted that the prudent management of the State financial, human and material resources by Gov Okowa during the period of economic recession, saved Delta State from socioeconomic collapse, adding that the huge funds that was saved through rigorious human and financial audits; and other deliberate fiscal policies of government helped to drive economic growth and infrastructure development.

Orogun, who is unarguably the the leading aspirant under PDP in the forthcoming Ethiope Federal Constituency party primaries urged the good people of Delta State and party faithfuls to preach the Okowa Again 2019 re-election message wherever they go, pointing out that the state governor’s master plan for jobs and wealth creation remains the only panacea for genuine and sustainable economic growth that guarantees long term prosperity for all Deltans.

“I make bold to say that Gov Okowa and his cabinet has done extremely well in revamping the state economy; laid solid foundation for the steady infrastructure and socioeconomic growth such that guarantees consistent prosperity for the good people of Delta State.

“My campaign organisation reviewed the past three years of Okowa’s administration and came to the conclusion that Delta State made huge success in jobs and wealth creation through the now famous Youth Agriculture and Skills Acquisition Entrepreneurship Programmes  (YAGEP and STEP).

“Gov Okowa has successfully raised over 3,500 Youths in the State from hopelessness, joblessness and acute frustration and gave them hope and a future through long term and sustainable socioeconomic remodelling that have empowered our youths to become employers of labour and bread winners for themselves, immediate and extended families.

“It follows that the SMART AGENDA which drives the good governance initiatives of Okowa’s administration cannot be faulted by any entity which is why the world bank has adopted the Okowa model for jobs and wealth creation in its partnership and funding standards for Delta and other states in under developed and enveloping economies in sub Sahara Africa.

“On behalf of my self and my campaign organisation, I wish to humbly congratulates His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and Deltans on the occasion of the 3rd good governance anniversary of this administration.

“We pray and believe that God shall continue to guide, guard and grant good health and longevity to our governor so as to discharge his functions for the economic advancement, overall development of the State and above all, that Deltans continue to enjoy dividends of democracy and financial  prosperity,” Orogun added.
