Political stakeholders across Delta Central are intensifying calls on Solomon Ahwinahwi to declare his intention to contest the Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.
Although the former lawmaker has yet to formally announce his ambition, sources indicate that consultations are ongoing, with several influential figures urging him to enter the race amid growing political momentum in the constituency.
In separate remarks, key political actors, including Chief Miller Orido, Comrade Save Maka, and Chief Harrison Veta, commended Ahwinahwi’s track record in public service and grassroots engagement, describing him as an experienced leader with the capacity to provide effective representation at the National Assembly.
Orido noted that the constituency requires a leader with a deep understanding of local needs, adding that Ahwinahwi’s experience and national reach position him well to make meaningful contributions. Similarly, Maka stressed the importance of continuity and quality representation, encouraging the former legislator to respond positively to the calls from constituents and stakeholders.
Veta, on his part, described Ahwinahwi as a unifying political figure whose potential entry into the race could strengthen support across the three local government areas.
Observers believe the increasing endorsements may soon prompt a formal declaration, as political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections continue to take shape.
As of the time of filing this report, Ahwinahwi has neither confirmed nor denied his intention to run, though close associates suggest that a decision may be announced in the near future.
