Police alleged killing of mother, daughter in Delta; Rep member calls for justice

There was palpable tension today at PTI Junction in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State as police vehicle chasing suspected “Yahoo boys” allegedly killed a mother and her daughter, even as Member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, Hon Ben Igbakpa calls for justice.

Advocate gathered that the police team had chased the ‘Yahoo Boys’ from PTI Road down to the spot of the incident when the unfortunate incident occurred with the woman and daughter confirmed the death on the spot.

The nursing mother, who sources say is a fish seller, was crushed alongside her daughter when the police van lost control and ran into the victims.

Meanwhile, reacting to the development, the Member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, Hon Ben Igbakpa has asked the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Muhammed Ali to arrest the culprits behind the gruesome death of a nursing mother and her daughter during an accident in Effurun, Uvwie local government area of Delta State.

According to the lawmaker, “The Police Area Commander, Warri and the Delta State Commissioner of Police must as a matter of urgency apprehend these culprits and bring them to book.

“This is heinous and underscores the need to reform the police force without waiting for another round protest.”
