Ogor alleged suicide threat; handwork of political losers –Aide

The Senior Legislative Aide to Hon Leo Ogor, Member Representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Akpodhoma Michael has debunked media reports calming that the immediate past minority leader of the House of Representatives allegedly threatened to commit suicide if not given the right to nominate the Isoko North Local Government PDP Chairmanship candidate in the forthcoming local government elections in Delta State.

Akpodhoma in a press statement sent to Advocate described the reports published in some online platforms as not only laughable but false, fake and from the pit of hell.

He added that the story was “classically fake and outright lies from political losers and serial blackmailers, who are desperate and ready to go all length to actualize their ungodly political ambition in 2023.”

The statement read: “Our attention has been drawn to a publication by Sahara Reporters and other online blogs where some selfish and self-centred characters claimed that the immediate past minority leader of the House of Representatives and member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon Leo Ogor threatened to commit suicide if not given the right to nominate the Isoko North Local Government PDP Chairmanship candidate in the forthcoming local government elections in Delta State.

“The story is false, fake and from the pit of hell. The issues here are straightforward; if the man in question didn’t threaten suicide over several elections he has contested and won since 2003 and other leadership positions in the National Assembly, why should he contemplate such horrendous path over mere Local government election?

“The claims in the story are classically fake and outright lies from political losers and serial blackmailers, who are desperate and ready to go all length to actualize their ungodly political ambition in 2023.

“First, the lawmaker’s initial choice candidate is from Ozoro, but owing to agitations from the minority communities, the Governor and the party leadership appealed to the federal lawmaker who is the political leader of Isoko North Local Government Area to throw his weight behind any of the aspirants from the minority groups. That was how Deacon Christian Iteire from Oyede emerged the Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidate, ahead of the March 6th 2021 local government election.

“It’s on record that on 20th December 2020, during the party’s leadership meeting at the country home of the federal parliamentarian, Mr Christian Iteire who he supported and stood for, got seventeen votes while the other candidate got just five votes.

“What then should bring lamentation, humiliation, tears and several other gibberishes used in the concocted report? The lawmaker’s preferred candidate already won during the gathering of twenty-three political leaders where seventeen voted for Iteire during the leadership meeting. Where exactly is Leo camp jittery seriously coming from if not from the hallucinations and figment of the imagination of political losers.

“If anyone was and still shedding tears, shivering and threatening suicide, perhaps it should be among those who have hidden agenda for 2023. At the moment the lawmaker is not considering contesting any election in 2023, and as the leader of Isoko North PDP, he is grateful to His Excellency Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Governor of Delta state and the leadership of the state PDP over the peaceful conduct of the party primaries.

He, therefore, advises the general public to disregard as fake, the story as reported by some online media and other social media platforms. “They are nothing but fabricated falsehoods by political distractors, losers and blackmailers bent on discrediting the peaceful leadership of the political party in Isoko North,” he added.
