BREAKING: Delta alleged COVID-19 patient, Ijala, confirms leaked audio tape, demands to see her result

…As government places her in incommunicado over leaked audio

By Shedrack Onitsha,

One of the patients of the two new cases of COVID-19 announced in Delta yesterday, Miss Omamuzo Ijala, has demanded to see her test result, insisting that she is didn’t test positive for COVID-19.

ADVOCATE gathered that Delta State Government might have placed her incommunicado following the embarrassment the leaked audio indicting the Warri Central hospital management and the government of poor treatment of COVID19 patients.

Recall that the Commissioner for Health, Dr Mordi Ononye, in a statement on Wednesday in Asaba, announced two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, bringing the total confirmed cases in the state to six, with one death and five active cases.

However, in trending audio released by Miss Omamuzo Ijala, which ADVOCATE has independently verified, the alleged COVID-19 patient debunked the report that she tested positive for COVID-19, challenging the state government to produce her result.

Decrying the poor treatment meted to her at the Central hospital Warri by the medical personnel who for fear of contracting the virus because they were poorly kitted and lacks the capacity to handle COVID-19 cases, treated her worse than a leaper.

She also accused the hospital management of starving her and giving her poor meal that cannot be given to refuge.

Igala in a telephone chat with one of our correspondent confirmed the authenticity of treading audio, maintained that she does not have Coronavirus, “I told them that I want to see my result, the Commissioner of health also called me, I told him that sir with due respect I want to see my result.

“I have been indoor throughout the lockdown, so where did I get it from; those of you going out every day have not contracted it, so how did I get it?

“I am an indoor person, I hardly socialize, though I am well known in my business, I have been indoors since the lockdown.

When asked how she knew she does not have Coronavirus, this is what she has to say: First of all, the said that the symptoms are cough, running nose, flu, difficulty in breathing and so on, but I only have a cough.”

She stated further that her brother took her to her friend place a day before the extension to the lockdown and that before then, she has remained indoors.

However, the interview was cut short when she was told that the medical director wants to speak to her, after waiting for about an hour our attempt to reach her back was not successful as her phones have been switch off.

Confirming the audio too, her brother who spoke to us anonymously said they visited her yesterday to give her some things that she might need following her calls that she is not properly taken care off.

However, on getting to the hospital we were told that we cannot bring edible food to her, even the hot water that we brought in flasks was also rejected.

Her brother lamented the poor treatment giving to her at the isolation centre at Warri Central hospital, calling on the government to up their game.
