In line with its preparedness to promote the quality of education in the state, the State Executive Council has approved the re-award of contracts for the construction of infrastructure in two campuses of Delta State University, DELSU.
The campuses are those located in Abraka and Asaba.
Throwing light on the development after the State Executive Council meeting held in Asaba on Monday, April 30, 2018, the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah said that while Abraka campus has two of the projects, Asaba has one.
According to Mr. Ukah, the Council approved the re-award of the contracts of the construction of an Ultra Modern Multipurpose Lecture Theatre and the construction of Faculty of Science Building at the Abraka campus of the University.
The Commissioner for Information further stated that the construction of the Faculty of Environmental Science at the Asaba campus was equally approved by the Council.
It could be recalled that three faculties of the University were recently granted full accreditation for a period of 5 years by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
They are the Faculties of Engineering, Law and College of Health Sciences.
