Delta APC Chieftain, Siunoje David arrested in Canada, charged with sexual assault, extortion, breach of trust 

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, Chief Siunoje David Kanebi, popularly known as ‘Mama’ has been arrested and charged with multiple cases of sexual assault, sexual harassment, extortion and criminal breach of trust and diversion of funds in Toronto, Canada.

Advocate.ng exclusively gathered that Chief Siunoje, the Olikeze Issele-Uku Kingdom in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, was picked up at the Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada on his way from Nigeria on April 11th, 2023.

Recall that Chief Siunoje, a former Personal Assistant on Special Duty to the Delta State Governor, was sacked for allegedly using his office to defraud the unsuspecting public, including a group of Igbo traders, and escaped to Canada with his family asking for asylum.

The former PDP chieftain who defected to the APC in the build-up to the 2023 general election allegedly sexually assaulted and harassed a married woman (name withheld) who gave him some form of assistance and a young girl who just turned 18 years a few months ago.

It was further gathered that Siunoje was held and disgraced at a party in Toronto by the mother of the 18-year-old girl for sexually molesting her daughter, party guests had to plead with the woman and Siunoje immediately fled from the party hall and the woman also pressed charges against him.

Canadian police authority was said to have contacted him while in Nigeria that a case was reported against him, but failed to tell him the nature of the case, but was placed on a watch list, so on his landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport, he was picked up.

Our investigation further revealed that he was arrested and detained at Brampton Police station with a case file: PR23014809, from April 11, 2023, and was released on bail on April 19th, 2023 following his plea with the judge due to his medical condition, and his wife Mrs Jessica Nkechinyere stood as surety with a bail bond of $5000.

Chief Siunoje is expected to take his plea on June 5th, 2023, at Court 103, 7755 Huronotario Street, Brampton, Ontario, Canada, where he will be facing a four-count charge which includes: 1. Sexual Assault, 2. Sexual Assault, 3. Sexual harassment and, 4. Extortion.

In a related development, another case filed by Mr Barry Ogbolu at Edmonton Police Station, with case file number 23235809, Chief Siunoje David is been charged with Criminal Breach of Trust and Diversion of Funds to the tune of N85m ($112,000.00).

According to Mr Ogbolu, Chief Siunoje David allegedly collected the sum of $112,000 (N85m) as payment for supposed two plots of land behind the Central Bank of Nigeria, Asaba, Delta State, allegedly belonging to Chief Siunoje, however, two years after the payment, Siunoje in his usual ways could not show him the location of the land when they both visited Nigeria or present to him documents relating to the said land.

He added that all lawful efforts to recover his money, including taking the matter before their monarch failed to yield the desired result as Chief Siunoje blatantly refused to refund his money or give him documents for the land he paid for, hence he decided to press charges against him in Canada, where most of the transaction took place.

As of the time of filing this report, all efforts by our correspondent to speak to Siunoje proved abortive as calls to his known Canadian number was not answered and text message to his Mobile line was not replied.
