Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has vowed to complete all ongoing projects before his tenure ends. He made the pledge on Monday during media interviews after touring key construction sites in Maiduguri.
Zulum toured four major projects across the metropolis. These include the 400-bed hospital, the International Conference Centre, the Post Office Flyover, and a 2.5-kilometre road dualization through Maiduguri Cattle Market.
"The people of the state are happy because we have delivered hundreds of projects across the state," Zulum told reporters. He promised that remaining work would be finished before his administration leaves office.
According to him, his government remains committed to funding all the projects. He added that the state is willing to introduce more projects where feasible.
The governor expressed satisfaction with work at two sites in particular. "I am impressed with the level of work done, especially at the International Conference Centre and the Post Office Flyover," he noted.
Zulum urged contractors to make full use of current weather conditions. Better conditions now, he explained, would help speed up construction timelines significantly.
He warned that any work left incomplete by the deadline won't be tolerated. Such outstanding tasks would be handed over to relevant government agencies for completion.
"Insha Allah, we shall leave no stone unturned before the end of our tenure," Zulum added. His assurance came as residents expressed excitement over the visible infrastructure developments across the state.
