Lamine Yamal marked his World Cup debut with a goal as Spain demolished Saudi Arabia 4-0 in Group H play.
Atlanta Stadium hosted the one-sided encounter on Thursday. Spain's 18-year-old Barcelona sensation opened the scoring in the 10th minute.
Yamal slid in at the far post to finish Mikel Oyarzabal's cross. It was a clinical finish from the youngster.
Coach Luis de la Fuente had started Yamal despite fitness worries. Spain needed a win after drawing goalless with Cape Verde in their opener.
Yamal's goal made history in Spanish football. He became the second-youngest Spaniard ever to score in a major tournament, trailing only Gavi at Euro 2024.
Oyarzabal then took over the show. He equalized in the 21st minute, reacting fastest to Aymeric Laporte's header.
Three minutes later, Oyarzabal struck again. Dani Olmo's through ball set up an easy finish for the Spanish winger.
By halftime, Spain had complete control. De la Fuente replaced both Yamal and Oyarzabal for the second period.
Saudi Arabia's defense crumbled further after the break. Defender Hassan Al Tambakti diverted a low cross into his own net for Spain's fourth goal.
Spain now sits top of Group H with four points. They've played two matches so far.
Uruguay awaits Spain in their final group game. That clash will determine whether they progress to the knockout stage.
Saudi Arabia plays Cape Verde next week. They must win to keep any hopes alive of advancing.
