Women Surveyors Call for Poverty Alleviation Policies in Nigeria

In a conference held by the Women in Surveying (WIS) wing of the Nigerian Institute of Surveyors (NIS), the National Coordinator, Surveyor Elizabeth Oluwadara Olayiwola, urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to introduce policies that will help lift Nigerians out of poverty.

The four-day event, themed “Proffering solutions for survival in a distressed economy,” highlighted the need for the government to support small-scale business owners and implement policies that will alleviate the current economic challenges faced by many Nigerian families.

Professor Grace Oloukoi, the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management at Lead City University, emphasized that women are the most affected by economic stress.

She suggested that diversifying the economy in a legal manner and building a social network can help individuals cope with economic distress.

The call for poverty alleviation policies comes at a critical time, as Nigeria faces economic challenges that have severely impacted small-scale business owners.

The implementation of such policies would not only improve the lives of millions of Nigerians but also contribute to the overall economic growth of the country.

President Tinubu’s administration has the opportunity to address the concerns raised by the Women Surveyors and take decisive action to support small-scale business owners.

By introducing targeted policies and programs, the government can help alleviate poverty and create a more inclusive and prosperous society for all Nigerians.
