The Urhobo representative on the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Mr. Sylvester Oniemo Ovbije, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, and Hon. Barr. Matthew Omonade, declaring that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would deliver a "5/5 victory" in the 2027 general elections.
Ovbije made the declaration on Sunday while hosting members of the SLY Political Movement and executive members of the APC, including Ward 1 leaders, at his country home in Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. The gathering, which attracted a large turnout of party faithful and grassroots supporters, served as a rallying point for APC stakeholders ahead of the 2027 elections.
Addressing the crowd, Ovbije urged party members to remain united, loyal and steadfast in their support for the APC and its candidates, describing President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori as the party's foremost political projects.
"We are standing solidly with our Governor, my Daddy, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains our number one project. Sheriff has done exceptionally well, as demonstrated by the overwhelming support we are witnessing today. APC is our party, the only party we know, and by the grace of God, we will deliver a 5/5 victory in 2027," he declared.
He cautioned supporters against being distracted by opposition parties, insisting that Ughelli North and Orogun had resolved to remain firmly behind the APC.
According to him, Governor Oborevwori's performance under the M.O.R.E. Agenda had earned him the confidence of the people, adding that a second term would enable the administration to consolidate on its developmental strides in synergy with President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.
"Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will do even more under the M.O.R.E. Agenda, working in tandem with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda when they are both re-elected in 2027," Ovbije said.
Also speaking, the Chief of Staff to the member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, lauded Ovbije for what he described as an impressive grassroots mobilisation effort in support of the APC.
Chief Bunor Agbomedarho, who represented the federal lawmaker, commended party faithful for their unwavering commitment and expressed confidence that Hon. Waive would record even greater achievements if returned for a second term.
"I want to sincerely thank my brother, Mr. Sylvester Ovbije, for this massive grassroots mobilisation for our great party. My principal, Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, has done remarkably well and will accomplish even more when re-elected in 2027," he said.
He urged APC members to remain loyal to the party and continue supporting Governor Oborevwori's administration, assuring them that greater dividends of democracy were on the horizon.
"Delta State is in safe hands. The full dividends of democracy are yet to come. Our leaders will do even more for the people when re-elected, and your support will never be taken for granted," he added.
Several party leaders and political stakeholders who addressed the gathering unanimously called on members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work collectively towards delivering APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The highlight of the meeting was the unanimous endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive and Hon. Barr. Matthew Omonade as the APC's "5/5" candidates for the 2027 polls.
Among dignitaries present were the Secretary of APC in Ughelli North, Mr. Franklyn Okoro, representing the local government chairman; Chief Gladys Agbah, APC Women Leader; Comrade Imoniacho Otega, Chairman of Orogun Ward 1; Chief Magistrate Enakpodia; Hon.
