Wike Slams Sekibo, Secondus, and Omehia as ‘Expired Politicians’ for Supporting Fubara

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Rivers State Governor, has criticized some leaders of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for openly supporting the current governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Wike expressed his disappointment with the actions of notable PDP leaders, including Abiye Sekibo, Uche Secondus, Celestine Omehia, and Austin Opara, who last week urged the President to intervene and advise Wike.

The former governor dismissed their support for Fubara, labeling them as “expired politicians” who are not worthy of being called “elder statesmen.”

In his statement, Wike emphasized that these leaders are all irrelevant and claimed that he had removed them from the party.

He also pointed out that Secondus is no longer part of the PDP, as the court has upheld his suspension.

Wike’s comments come in the wake of his admission that his relationship with former Governor Peter Odili has deteriorated due to political differences.

He acknowledged that they do not have a good political relationship and no longer work together.

The criticism from Wike highlights the ongoing internal conflicts within the PDP in Rivers State and underscores the growing rift between the former governor and other party leaders.

The situation has sparked debate and speculation about the future of the party and its leadership in the state.

As the political landscape in Rivers State continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how the PDP will navigate these challenges and the impact they will have on the party’s unity and electoral prospects in the future.
