A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Director General of the Technical Committee Secretariat on the Creation of Anioma State, Godfrey Odogwu, has declared that Distinguished Senator Ned Nwoko remains the most outstanding candidate to represent Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly in decades.
Odogwu, while outlining reasons why the senator deserves a second term in the Red Chamber, said Nwoko’s return to the Senate would ensure continuity in the ongoing process for the creation of Anioma State, which he described as one of the most significant political projects in the history of the Anioma people.
According to him, Senator Nwoko has already laid a strong legislative foundation alongside his colleagues in the 10th Senate toward the actualization of Anioma State with Asaba as the proposed capital, stressing that discontinuity at this stage could stall years of progress already achieved.
He noted that the senator’s legislative contributions cut across constitutional reforms, fiscal federalism, healthcare, youth empowerment, national security, diaspora inclusion and public sector accountability, adding that Nwoko’s impressive record has earned him multiple recognitions in the current Senate.
The APC stalwart further stated that the senator’s representation has brought visible development to communities across the nine local government areas of Delta North through road projects, water schemes, school renovations, medical outreach programmes, solar electrification initiatives, agricultural support schemes and empowerment programmes targeted at youths and women.
Describing Nwoko as a courageous and visionary leader, Odogwu said the senator has continued to demonstrate the political will and intellectual capacity required to confront structural challenges affecting the Anioma people and Nigeria at large.
He also praised the senator’s humanitarian interventions, saying Nwoko has consistently awarded scholarships to indigent students, paid medical bills for vulnerable persons, supported small businesses and extended financial assistance to struggling families across Delta North and beyond.
Odogwu maintained that Senator Nwoko enjoys widespread support among women, youths, professionals, artisans, farmers and traditional rulers in Anioma land due to what he described as his accessibility, sincerity and people-oriented leadership style. He added that the senator’s regular consultations with traditional rulers and stakeholders on the Anioma State project have further strengthened public confidence in his leadership.
He, therefore, called on the people of Delta North to unite and support the senator’s return to the National Assembly, insisting that Nwoko remains “tried, tested and trusted” with the capacity, compassion and determination to deliver more dividends of democracy and complete ongoing legislative initiatives for the benefit of Ndi Anioma.
