Warri Port to come alive again-Warri South Chairman assures

Micheal Tidi, Executive Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state, has assured that the Warri port will soon reclaim its old glory as parts of effort in bringing the oil city to her former bubbling state.

 

 

Hon. Tidi gave this assurance on Friday, March 23 in Warri when Onyeisi Ndi Igbo of Delta South and Central District, HRM, Sir. Peter Chukwu paid him a courtesy call in his office.

 

 

According to the chairman: “The Warri port will be made functional again, we will have the Warri economic summit in the next few weeks, we need to know where we went wrong and make out solutions on the way forward.

 

In his words, “Every resolutions from the summit will be duly implemented as the oil city well positioned and do not need to depend on federal allocation before executing projects in the area”.

 

He added that the functions of the local government council goes beyond payment of salaries, hence the introduction of  electronic revenue generation to boost the council revenue for better development.

 

While commending the Onyeisi Nid Igbo, the local government bosss noted that the Igbo community contribute immensely to the economic development of Warri. He appealed to the Onyeisi Ndi Igbo to talk to his subjects in the local government to key into the programmes of his administration.

 

Continuing, he said he have great respect for every Igbo man because of their creativity and industrious nature. He said for these reasons he has included some Igbo’s in some of his committees. Mr. Tidi thanked them for supporting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during the local government elections.

 

He said in order to the  local government area more accessible to revenue collectors, the council is to be delineated and urged the Onyeisi Ndi Igbo to encourage his people to cooperate.

 

Earlier in his address, HRM, Chukwu told the chairman that they were in his office to congratulate him on his victory during the local government election stating and to pledged their allegiance to his administration.

 

 

He appeal to the chairman to engaged other members  as they are very productive and promised their total cooperation with his government.
