Wamakko inaugurates private hospital in Sokoto, hails founder

Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North), on Monday, inaugurated Foresight Premium Hospital, a private facility established by an indigene of Sokoto State, Dr Shamsu Aliyu.

Wamakko, in a statement issued by his Spokesman, Bashar Abubakar, described the gesture as commendable, calling on other well-meaning individuals in the state to emulate it.

He said that the establishment of private hospitals in the state will bring healthcare services closer to the people.

“As citizens, we should continue to patronise these hospitals in order to encourage the establishment of more private health facilities in the state,” the former governor of the state said.

Earlier, the Founder of the hospital said that the gesture was part of his efforts and commitment to bringing succour to indigent patients across the state.

“With the establishment of this hospital, plans are  underway to establish more health facilities in the zone and the country at large,” Aliyu said.

Also speaking Dr Mansur Buhari, of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, said that the 24-bed capacity hospital would provide about 300 jobs for the people of the state.

According to Buhari, the hospital has an operation room, pharmacy, labour room, ICU, male and female amenity wards and a recovery room, among other facilities.
