UNIZIK Faculty of social sciences launches clean and green environment project

Prof Frank-Collins Okafor, the newly-inugrauated Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, said the faculty has successfully launched its Clean and Green Environment Project.
Okafor gave this indication in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Awka.
He said the project was carried out with the massive clearing and evacuation of grasses and wastes around the Faculty on Saturday in Awka.
He said he personally anchored the project because of his long nursed goal aimed at riding the Faculty environment of all forms of dirts.
Okafor thanked all participants in the programme, and stated that the programme became necessary following the menace of dirts and waste in the Faculty due to unavailability of funds to engage professional labourers.
He enjoined all staff and students to be Volunteers and to always talk to fellow students to make good use of the waste disposal facilities in the Faculty.
Okafor said the programme was the first of its kind, and was attended by some lecturers, President of Faculty of Social Sciences Students Association, (FOSSA), students and other enthusiasts.
He prayed for the sustenance f the programme and encouraged the faculty members to see the exercise as a key action to take the faculty above other faculties.
Okafor said the faculty, under his watch, will certainly distinguish itself in both environmental cleaning and academic excellence.
NAN reports that some of the faculty members commended the creative mind of the Dean and wished him well in his tenure.
