Umahi Criticizes NLC’s Protest, Defends Tinubu’s Administration

The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has criticized the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for their two-day nationwide protest over the economic hardship in the country.

Umahi, who is also the former Governor of Ebonyi State, stated that the action of the labour union does not show patriotism, and that they understand the problems facing the nation.

While inspecting the Enugu-Port Harcourt road on Monday, Umahi defended the administration of President Bola Tinubu, stating that the President is working hard to address the challenges bedevilling the nation.

He emphasized that Mr. President is committed to turning around the country’s misfortunes and that it is essential for everyone to support him and be patient during the process.

The Minister highlighted that every sector of the economy requires attention and that President Tinubu is managing them well.

He urged Nigerians to be patient and support the economic reforms of the federal government, as the issue of hunger has been a frequent problem in the country, even during past administrations.

Umahi further encouraged people to increase their activities in the farm and stressed that the issue of hunger was not a thing of today but dates back to the past administrations.

He also pointed out that the people who are criticizing the current administration are the ones who presided over the beginning of insecurity in the country.

Umahi believes that the NLC’s decision to go on strike four times within nine months does not show patriotism and that it is essential for everyone to understand the country’s problems and work together to address them.
