Donald Trump has called Iranian leaders "lunatics" who cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons. He made the sharp criticism while speaking to journalists at the White House on Thursday.

Iran had initially agreed to let inspectors remove its enriched uranium stockpile, Trump noted. But the country backed out because officials refused to put the commitment in writing, he claimed.

"My plan is straightforward," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "Iran will not have a nuclear weapon under any circumstances."

He also blasted Iran's recent missile attacks across the Gulf region as a catastrophic blunder. Countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE weren't expecting to come under fire, Trump said.

According to the US President, oil and gas prices will plummet once regional tensions ease. "Prices will drop like a rock," he predicted.
