Tragic Explosions during Iran Memorial for Slain General claim 103 lives

Two explosions rocked an event commemorating the fourth anniversary of the death of Iran’s prominent general Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike in 2020.

The blasts occurred in Kerman, Iran, and have claimed the lives of at least 103 people and injured more than 170 others.

Iranian officials have labeled the explosions as “terroristic” and have stated that the bombs were planted along the road leading to Kerman’s Martyrs’ Cemetery and were detonated remotely.

The first blast occurred during the memorial service, and the second explosion followed about 15 minutes later.

The tragic incident has sparked widespread concern and mourning in Iran and around the world, with many expressing their condolences and support for the victims and their families.

The Iranian government has vowed to investigate the attack and bring those responsible to justice.

This devastating event comes amidst a period of turmoil and unrest in Iran, including mass protests and attacks by exile groups.

The country has also been dealing with the aftermath of the 2022 death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman who died in police custody after being arrested for allegedly violating Iran’s mandatory hijab law.

As the world continues to grapple with these tragic events, it is important to remember the lives lost and the families and communities affected by these acts of violence. In times of darkness, it is crucial to stand together in solidarity and support one another.
