The Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), Chief (Dr.) Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Mallam Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), on his 60th birthday today, January 8, 2025.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Dr Paul Bebenimibo, Tompolo commended Kyari for his exceptional transformation of the NNPCL, earning the admiration of even sceptics.

He highlighted Kyari’s patriotic zeal and his alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which has placed Nigeria on a path toward sustainable growth and development.

Reflecting on Kyari’s impact, Tompolo noted that the NNPCL was on the brink of collapse before Kyari’s appointment. Under his leadership, the company has recorded unprecedented success, drawing accolades from industry stakeholders.

Tompolo specifically praised Kyari’s efforts in reviving Nigeria’s refining capacity, citing the rehabilitation and operational commencement of the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries in November and December 2024. Together, these refineries now contribute a combined refining capacity of 117,000 barrels per day (bpd). The Warri refinery operates at 75,000 bpd, while the Port Harcourt refinery contributes 42,000 bpd, marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s quest for energy security and reduced reliance on imported refined products.

Tompolo, whose company has been at the forefront of combating crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta, lauded Kyari’s strategic approach to addressing these challenges.

He credited Kyari’s resolve and innovative security measures, which included involving non-state actors like Tantita, as key factors in curbing crude oil theft and increasing production.

“Under your watch, crude oil production has risen from a troubling 600,000 barrels per day to 1.8 million barrels per day, with promising indicators pointing toward 2 million barrels per day,” Tompolo stated.

He also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and Kyari for their roles in stabilizing the nation’s oil production and described the achievement as a hallmark of innovative leadership.

On behalf of Tantita Security Services, Tompolo reaffirmed his company’s commitment to working with NNPCL and other stakeholders to sustain the gains recorded in crude oil production and protect Nigeria’s economic resources.

“I, Chief (Dr.) Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, on behalf of the management and staff of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, congratulate the indefatigable GCEO of NNPCL, Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari, on his glorious 60th birthday. May Almighty Allah bless you with sound health, wisdom, and strength in your continued efforts toward nation-building,” the statement concluded.
