Tobi Amusan claimed victory at the Paris Diamond League meet on Saturday. Nigeria's sprint queen dominated the 100-meter hurdles with a commanding performance.
She crossed the finish line in 12.28 seconds. It marked her season's best time.
Americans Grace Stark and Alysha Johnson rounded out the podium. Both also posted season-best efforts of 12.38s and 12.39s respectively.
This win extends Amusan's Diamond League streak to three consecutive victories. She'd previously triumphed in Rabat and Taiwan.
The 29-year-old has now run 12.28s on three separate occasions. Few athletes have matched her consistency at this elite level.
Amusan didn't lead from the start. She sat fourth through most of the race before making her move.
At the seventh hurdle, she shifted into overdrive. The Ogun State native surged past her rivals with precision.
Over the final 30 metres, she put on a display of pure speed. Nadine Visser finished fourth as Amusan pulled clear.
Her next assignment takes her stateside to Eugene, Oregon. She'll compete at the Prefontaine Classic on July 4.
That venue holds special significance for the world record holder. She clocked 12.12 seconds there—a mark that still stands.
