Tinubu’s Promise Fulfilled: 26,404 Bags of Grains Distributed to Sokoto Residents in Nigeria

Nigeria, President Bola Tunibu has commenced the distribution of 26,404 bags of maize, millet, and sorghum.

This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to address the current economic downturn in the country, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The event was inaugurated by Sen. Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, and was witnessed by various dignitaries.

The event, held in Sokoto, marks the commencement of the distribution of 42,000 metric tonnes of assorted food to all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to Sen. Abubakar Kyari, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, this initiative is a direct response to President Tinubu’s promise to mitigate the economic hardship faced by citizens across the country.

The event, which saw the distribution of 10,120 bags of maize, 11,960 bags of sorghum, and 4,324 bags of millet, aims to provide relief to vulnerable Nigerians in Sokoto State.

Gov. Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State commended President Tinubu for this gesture and acknowledged that the current economic challenges are not unique to Nigeria but a global issue.

He assured the Federal government of the state’s commitment to ensuring that the distribution is carried out in accordance with the stipulated guidelines, emphasizing the importance of transparency and fairness.

Furthermore, Gov. Aliyu pledged to augment the federal government’s efforts by providing additional support to alleviate the hardship faced by residents in the state.

The event was also attended by notable figures such as Sen. Aliyu Abdullahi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, and Sen. Aliyu Wamakko, among others.

In her remarks, the Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Zubaida Umar, highlighted the establishment of distribution committees in each local government area, comprising various stakeholders to ensure a fair and transparent distribution process.

The distribution of 26,404 bags of grains in Sokoto State is a testament to President Bola Tunibu’s commitment to addressing the economic challenges faced by Nigerians.

This initiative, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to provide relief to vulnerable citizens and is part of a larger effort to distribute food items across the country.

The government’s proactive approach, coupled with the support of various stakeholders, is a positive step towards ensuring food security and alleviating the economic hardship faced by residents in Nigeria.
