Yoruba nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his role in securing the release of abducted students and teachers in Oyo State. According to Igboho, the president made considerable efforts to bring the captives home safely.

The kidnapped pupils and staff from Community Grammar School in Ahoro-Esinele, LA Primary School, and Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota spent 56 days in captivity before security operatives freed them on Friday. Igboho's media office released a statement praising the security chiefs and the Department of State Services for their work in the rescue operation.

In his commendation, Igboho specifically named Defence Minister General Christopher Musa (retired), Police Inspector-General Tunji Disu, the military, the National Security Adviser, and the DSS for their coordinated efforts. He said their teamwork proved crucial to the safe return of all the hostages.

Igboho stressed that Tinubu has demonstrated unwavering commitment since the abductions occurred. "The government is determined to deal with criminal groups in Oke-Ogun, Oyo State, and throughout Nigeria, and there is no doubt about this," he said.

According to the activist, the federal government plans to maintain close collaboration with local security outfits to combat criminality in communities. He added that the administration remains focused on tackling all forms of criminal activities across the country.

Igboho underscored the government's dedication to creating a secure environment for farmers and rural dwellers across the South West region. He said authorities would employ all lawful means to achieve this goal.

The release of the students and teachers marked a significant breakthrough in ongoing security challenges affecting Oyo State, which has witnessed several abductions in recent times. The rescue operation demonstrated the coordination between various federal security agencies in responding to kidnapping incidents.
