President Bola Tinubu has named former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose to chair the Rural Electrification Agency. The president simultaneously appointed 26 individuals across 10 federal agencies and commissions, his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga announced on Monday.
Fayose will lead the REA board alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta, who serve as members and non-executive directors. The existing director-general Abba Abubakar Aliyu and three current executive directors round out the board structure.
Eight more appointees joined the Wages Commission under Major General Bindawa's leadership. Former Lagos lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas takes the role of commission secretary.
Tinubu picked Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun, and Yakubu Umar Barde as commissioners, representing Benue, Oyo, and Kaduna states respectively. Dr Mai Adamu Yau from Borno, Ginika Florence Tor of Enugu, Engineer Lawrence Okoh from Edo, and Bello Morenike Iyabode of Kogi also joined as members.
Tosin Johnson Adeyanju shifted from his executive secretary position at the National Lottery Trust Fund to become secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission. This represents a lateral move within the federal administration.
The president appointed Dr Abuh Mohammed as director-general of the National Population Commission. Dr Akinola Odeyemi takes charge as managing director of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading, while Dr Anthony Inalegwu Godwin heads the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission as chairman and chief executive.
Engineer Julius Oloro, a retired council chairman, now leads the Kwara-based National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation. He replaces Dr A.R.
Kamal, who died in January.
Tinubu established the Fiscal Responsibility Commission board with Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as chairman. Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis O.
Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele, and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola serve as board members.
Shuni Muhammad Dahiru heads the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education as executive secretary. He succeeds Professor Shu'aibu Shehu Aliyu, who moved to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund in April.
Gisaor Vincent Iorja takes over as executive director, finance at the Federal Housing Authority from Mathias Byuan, who stepped down to pursue the Benue governorship race. Iorja, an economist and legal scholar, currently serves as secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission.
All appointments take effect immediately, the president's office confirmed.
