Taraba Workers Protest Economic Hardship: Government Urged to Act Now

In Taraba State, the organized labor has called for swift government action to address the economic hardship faced by Nigerians.

The state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Peter Jediel, spoke on behalf of the workers during a protest on Tuesday, emphasizing that “enough is enough.”

The peaceful nature of their activism was stressed, with any form of violence or subversion of their cause being denounced.

Central to the grievances is the perceived failure in policy formulation and implementation, which has had detrimental effects on workers and the nation as a whole.

The workers demand the prompt implementation of previously reached agreements and have warned that failure to meet their demands before March 2 could result in severe economic consequences.

This ultimatum underscores the seriousness of their resolve and the urgency for government action.

Workers have been urged to prepare for a potential escalation, reflecting a sentiment of disillusionment with unproductive dialogues and a readiness for more decisive action.

The call for preparedness highlights the need for the government to address the issue and take swift action to alleviate the economic hardship faced by the workers and the nation.
