At least 13 people have lost their lives in a raid on Efeyi community in Otukpo local government area of Benue State. Suspected herdsmen stormed the village on Tuesday and opened gunfire on inhabitants, leaving many others unaccounted for.
Rescue teams have retrieved 13 bodies so far, though the search for missing persons continues. The Benue State police spokesperson, Edet Udeme, said she would provide further details about the assault.
