Supreme Court Ruling : Overah congratulates Gov. Okowa, urges Ogboru to quit politics

The Commissioner representing Sapele, Ethiope West and Okpe local government area on the Board of DESOPADEC, Hon. Joyce Overah has congratulated Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa on his victory at the Supreme Court, even as he urged  Chief Great Ogboru to quit politics and take up other ventures.

Overah while addressing newsmen immediately after the Supreme Court dismissed the petition of Chief Ogboru said;  the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate for the last general elections has become a distraction to governance in Delta State for too long.

He noted that the APC gubernatorial candidate has made Delta State a political jokes were anyone can just come from overseas or wake up one morning and say he wants to be governor without political structure.

He said that Ogboru has been on with his political agenda right from the time of the former governor Chief James Onanefe Ibori down to Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan and to the present governor Senator  Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, filling one petition to another from appeal to supreme, there by dragging the state into series of litigation.

He stated further, that he had expected  that after the first tribunal judgement  Chief Great Ogboru would have embraced the governor and partner with him to develop Delta State.

According to him, “Chief Great Ogboru has become a distraction governance of Delta State for too long. My advice to him is to quit politics and venture into other areas of life. He should stop dragging the government of Delta State into series of litigation.

“I must thank God for Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa’s victory. Governor Okowa has always won and will continue to win, he is a man after God’s heart. A man that has come with the mind set to develop Delta State.

“His projects speak volume. In every local government area there are projects commissioned, ongoing, and new projects that are been initiated by Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa .

“Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa has raised the bar of governance since the foundation was laid down by Chief James Onanefe Ibori; I must congratulate the governor for his well deserve victory at the supreme Court which has put to a rest to Ogboru’s zeal to govern Delta State,” he added.
