The movement for Anioma State received a major boost as monarchs and prominent figures gathered at Senator Ned Nwoko’s Idumuje-Ugboko residence to pledge their support for the creation of the new state.
Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in the National Assembly, welcomed a growing chorus of support from leaders including His Royal Highness Dr. Isitor Julius, King of Ottah-Igbanke, and His Royal Highness Evans Anthony, King of Obazagbon Community, both of whom strongly endorsed the Anioma State initiative.
King Isitor Julius delivered a stirring endorsement, affirming, "Anioma State will come to stay, and God will be behind you. We, along with those at home, stand solidly behind you. We are learned, we understand what freedom is, and we refuse to relive the hardships of our forefathers." He underscored that his community of Igbanke is “ready and fully committed” to joining the envisioned Anioma State.
King Evans Anthony of Obazagbon also expressed his community’s unwavering backing, stating, “Traditional rulers in our area are solidly behind you,” underscoring the support of the Obazagbon community.
The Ugo Anioma group, a cultural association dedicated to Anioma’s statehood cause, joined the gathering to reaffirm their solidarity. During discussions, the group inquired about the progress of Senator Nwoko’s legislative push, emphasizing their dedication to seeing Anioma State become a reality.
With continued endorsements from community leaders, the Anioma State movement gains momentum, uniting leaders and citizens in their shared vision of political representation and regional development.
