Sunshine Stars of the Nigeria National League have declared midfielder David Igoche absent without official leave. The club's manager, Gabriel Aborowa, made the announcement in a statement, noting that the player hasn't reported for duty since June when the team resumed pre-season training.
Sunshine Stars warned all football clubs, agents and other stakeholders not to negotiate Igoche's transfer without the club's written permission. The outfit stressed that Igoche remains their contracted player and continues to receive his agreed wages.
The club is currently preparing for the 2026-27 NNL season and has made clear its stance on the missing player's status. Any club attempting to approach Igoche risks violating the player's existing contract with Sunshine Stars.
