Omoyele Sowore has issued a stark warning to President Bola Tinubu. The activist threatens to "Occupy Aso Rock" if authorities don't rescue abducted schoolchildren in Oyo.
Sowore, the African Action Congress presidential candidate, made the declaration on X on Sunday. He demanded swift action from the president and security leadership.
"If Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his service chiefs fail to track down and secure the release of the abducted Oyo schoolchildren and other kidnapped people, we will have no choice but to occupy Aso Rock Villa this week!" he posted.
Gunmen attacked a school in Oriire Local Government Area on May 15. They kidnapped at least 45 schoolchildren and teachers, killing an assistant head teacher and a motorcycle rider.
Sowore's ultimatum comes as families remain desperate for the captives' safe return. Security operations continue in the state.
