Senator Wamakko Urges Nigerian Women to Crush Political Barriers on IWD 2024

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, has called on Nigerian women to leverage all electoral opportunities and crush barriers to their effective participation in politics.

Senator Wamakko, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debt, emphasized the need for women in politics to sharpen their focus and develop strategies to overcome obstacles to their pursuit of elective offices at the federal, state, and local government levels.

The lawmaker commended Nigerian women for their unwavering commitment to democracy, noting that they have the highest number of dedicated voters during elections.

He also praised Nigerian women who have excelled in various professional fields through hard work and dedication.

Senator Wamakko also lauded President Bola Tinubu for his gender-friendly appointments, which he believes will bring women to the forefront of democratic governance.

As the 2024 International Women’s Day is celebrated, the Senator’s message serves as a reminder of the importance of women’s participation in politics and the need to create a more inclusive and diverse political landscape in Nigeria.
