Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has empowered over 500 youths and women across the district with skills training and cash grants as part of a wide-ranging development initiative aimed at boosting self-employment, wealth creation and community growth.

The empowerment programme, which kicked off at the weekend in Asaba, drew beneficiaries from the nine local government areas of Delta North and focused on equipping participants with practical business and entrepreneurial skills for sustainable economic productivity.

At the end of a three-day intensive capacity-building training, each beneficiary received a grant of ₦100,000, facilitated by Senator Nwoko. The training was organised by the Centre for Management Development in partnership with ABEAM Global Resources Limited.

Speaking at the event, Senator Nwoko said the initiative was designed to unlock the economic potential of youths and women as key drivers of job creation and grassroots development, stressing that sustainable progress is rooted in strategic investment in people.

Represented by his Political Adviser, Chief Emmanuel Afam Eboh, the senator assured that more empowerment and intervention programmes would be rolled out in the 2026 legislative year, reaffirming his commitment to human capital development through collaboration with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Delta State Government led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

Describing youths as “agents of innovation and creativity,” Senator Nwoko urged beneficiaries to remain focused and purposeful, noting that enterprise, resilience and youthful energy are critical to economic growth and community stability.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, participants from across the district hailed Senator Nwoko as a pillar of social, economic and cultural development in Anioma land, expressing appreciation for the opportunity and support.

Meanwhile, the senator has also announced a Medical Outreach Programme for selected Delta North communities, scheduled for February 1 and 2, 2026. The outreach will take place at the Primary Healthcare Centre, Agbor, in Ika South Local Government Area and the Primary Healthcare Centre, Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area, where residents will receive free medical consultations, drugs and treatment.
