In a remarkable display of legislative excellence, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in the National Assembly, has been recognized as one of the most impactful lawmakers in the 10th Senate. A special report released by the Senate leadership ranked Senator Nwoko among the Senators with the highest legislative contributions.

The report, titled "Summary of the Senate Amendment Bills under the 10th Senate of the National Assembly," highlighted Senator Nwoko’s significant role in initiating five key bills out of the approximately 30 bills prioritized for deliberation by the Committee on the Review of the 1999 Constitution. Among these, his bill advocating for the creation of Anioma State stood out as the only state creation bill listed, underscoring its importance and the weight it carries in the legislative agenda.

Other critical bills sponsored by Senator Nwoko include those on Diaspora voting, the Parliamentary System of Government, Local Government Autonomy, and life-saving medical aid in emergencies. These legislative efforts reflect his commitment to addressing fundamental national issues through constitutional reforms.

Since his inauguration on June 13, 2023, Senator Nwoko has set an impressive record with 27 bills and 20 motions, establishing himself as one of the most active and productive Senators in the Red Chamber. His contributions span a wide range of pressing national concerns, earning him recognition as a vocal advocate with incisive perspectives on security, electricity, water resources, oil theft, environmental degradation, gas flaring, economic revitalization, social welfare for vulnerable groups, and entrepreneurship for sustainable growth.

In his constituency, Delta North, Senator Nwoko has initiated transformative projects across Ika, Aniocha/Oshimili, and Ndokwa/Ukwuani federal constituencies. Notable among these are the construction of a sports facility in Issele-Uku, solar-powered boreholes in Umunede and Idumuje-Ugboko, and solar street lighting projects in communities such as Idumuje-Unor, Onicha Ugbo, Asaba, and Kwale.

Additionally, Senator Nwoko has spearheaded the construction of a 2-kilometer road and the renovation of a police station in Idumuje-Ugboko. He also facilitated the rehabilitation of critical sections of the Benin-Asaba Expressway, addressing the Ezenei, Okwe, Ubulu-Okoti, and Igbodo axis to ease transportation challenges.

Beyond infrastructure, over 2,000 individuals have benefited from his skill acquisition and empowerment programs, aimed at promoting gainful employment, wealth creation, and improved healthcare within his constituency. These initiatives reflect his commitment to holistic development and the well-being of his constituents.

In a demonstration of his dedication to justice and peace, Senator Nwoko played a pivotal role last year in advocating for the release of HRM Ovie Clement Ikolo, the traditional ruler of Ewu Kingdom, detained in connection with the Okuama crisis of March 14, 2024, in Ughelli South Local Government Area. This effort underscored his reputation as a detribalized leader committed to unity and harmony in Delta State.

With a blend of legislative diligence and impactful constituency projects, Senator Ned Nwoko continues to distinguish himself as a lawmaker dedicated to fostering development and addressing critical national and regional challenges.
